Indiana Pacers: Reggie Miller, No. 11, 1987 NBA Draft

Miller was selected with the No. 11 overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft, a pick that many Pacers fans were upset with when it was announced. While the Pacers fans wanted the team to select Indiana native Steve Alford, Miller eventually won the hearts of local fans with his perimeter shooting and swagger. Miller’s feud with the New York Knicks is a NBA legend, including his amazing eight points in nine-second performance in the playoffs. No one loved tormenting the Knicks more than Miller, and no one loved hating Miller more than the Knicks. His trash-talking and antagonism are almost as legendary as his shooting.

Miller holds the Indiana Pacers total points scored record by an enormous margin — 25,279 points, 12,408 more than Rik Smits who is second in total points scored — as well as nearly every other team record. He retired as the NBA’s leader in three-point field goals made, with a reputation as one of the the greatest clutch shooters in the history of the league. With a slew of iconic moments to his legacy, Miller is a Hall of Fame player, and will always be a Pacers legend.
