If there is any head coach in the Power 5 poised to leave his current team for a better gig in 2017, it might be Indiana Hoosiers head coach Kevin Wilson. Wilson led a football team at a basketball school to a bowl game for the first time as head coach of the Hoosiers in 2015.

While it was Wilson’s fifth season in Bloomington, it’s still an impressive feat given that Indiana plays in the harder of the two conferences in the Big 10 in the Big 10 East. The East features three programs with National Championship aspirations in the Michigan Wolverines, the Michigan State Spartans, and the Ohio State Buckeyes and another blue-blood program on the rebound in the Penn State Nittany Lions.

To even be bowl eligible at a school like Indiana, Wilson is essentially moving mountains in this program he is building. While it will be impossible to keep Baylor afloat as a top 10 college football program after the sexual assault scandal, Wilson is the perfect head coach to win the right way in Baylor.

Just relocating from Bloomington to Waco helps Wilson in recruiting, as there are superior athletes in Texas than in Indiana. Even if he does find a great talent in-state, he’ll have to do his best to not let Independent beast to the North in South Bend sign him and make him a Golden Domer with the iconic Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Turning Baylor around in the midst of this scandal won’t be easy for even the most qualified coach for the job. However, succeeding in basketball crazy Indiana with Notre Dame and elite Big 10 schools constantly knocking the Hoosiers around might mean that Wilson is the perfect man for the job in Waco in 2017 if he wants it.
