Third Baseman

High-Salary Option: Jake Lamb-Arizona Diamondbacks (4,600): Lamb leads the way with a hefty salary hit of 4,600 at the hot corner.  It’s easy to see why, though, since he has multiple hits in four of his last five starts including three home runs during that span and is also playing again tonight at Coors Field.  He homered at Coors yesterday while going 2-5 giving him over 22 fantasy points in four of the last five contests in which he has been in the starting lineup. The only real risk with Lamb is that he does come at such a high cost.

Mid-range Option: Jose Ramirez-Cleveland Indians (3,200): Ramirez is a nice mid-range option coming off a pair of multi-hit games against the Rays.  He has gone 8-24 (.333) over the last week with a homer and four RBI.  Ramirez added a stolen base last night (his eighth of the season) and is emerging as a nice part of the Tribe’s suddenly productive lineup.

Mid-Range Option: Yunel Escobar-Los Angeles Angels (2,900): Escobar brings a six-game hitting streak into tonight’s game against the A’s after going 1-4 with a double yesterday.  He is hitting .321 (26-81) in June and has a solid .359 OBP.  Even though he is hitting leadoff, Escobar has yet to steal a base this season, but I still think he’s a solid play tonight against lefty Evan Surkamp especially since he has a .941 OPS against southpaws on the season with a much lower .768 OPS against righties. ∗∗

High-Value Option: Yangervis Solarte-San Diego Padres (2,600): Solarte has also crushed lefties this season entering tonight with a 1.057 OPS against southpaws thanks to two homers as part of his 11-32 split.  Tonight, he’ll face Reds’ southpaw Cody Reed at Great American Balllpark.  Solarte has good numbers on the road since he’s out of the pitcher-friendly confines of PetCo, and I like him as he hits in the middle of the SD lineup tonight.∗∗∗∗

High-Value Option: Conor Gillaspie-San Francisco Giants (2,200): Gillaspie could be a steal tonight as he and the Giants face the Phillies by the Bay.  He started on Tuesday and went 4-5 with a homer on his way to 41.4 fantasy points and then went 104 yesterday against the Pirates in the series finale.  Tonight, he’ll likely get the nod at 3B again while Matt Duffy remains on the DL, and he should be in a place to produce even if he hits at the bottom of the lineup. He’s a high-risk, high-reward play tonight, but a very nice way to save some salary.∗∗
