Denver Nuggets

Picks: No. 7 Jamal Murray, No. 15 Juan Hernangomez, No. 19 Malik Beasley, No. 53 Petr Cornelie

The first thing that needs to be said about the Denver Nuggets and what they did in the 2016 NBA Draft is that I have absolutely no idea where they are going to play Jamal Murray. He’s not a player that I think they can slot in at point guard right now given Murray’s limited passing ability right now and they already have a bit of a log jam at the two-guard.

However, Murray was the best player available at No. 7 by the measure of most people and adding a player to their frontcourt wouldn’t have made much sense either. And outside of Murray, I really like what the Nuggets were able to do in this draft. Both Juan Hernangomez and Malik Beasley are underrated prospects as they come into Denver and both players could potentially contribute if the Nuggets shake up their roster to try and make spots in the rotation for those guys and for Murray.

Because of the seeming lack of fit for most of these guys on the win right now and the uncertainty of exactly how Denver is going to be able to work them into the rotation, it’s hard to give this Nuggets team a good grade. But also considering the talented players that I like that they were smart enough to draft, I will concede and give them a slightly above average grade.

Final Grade: C+
