Sometimes you really just want to wonder if a franchise intentionally tries to be terrible. That appears to be exactly what the Sacramento Kings did in the NBA Draft on Thursday night.

Originally holding the No. 8 pick in the draft, the Kings traded it for a sub-par package from the Phoenix Suns that included the No. 13 pick, No. 28 pick and Bogdan Bogdanovic, who might never come over to the NBA.

That’s good and all, but the Kings then decided to spend a lottery pick on a player that probably wouldn’t have been drafted in center Georgios Papagiannis. If the Kings were in dire need of a center on their roster, then perhaps they could have some justifiable reason for reaching here.

However, these are the types of moves that continue to send the franchise into a downward spiral. Think this wasn’t a bad pick? Then check out the Twitter feed of DeMarcus Cousins after the pick was made.

Their star player sees the writing on the wall and that’s no hope in sight for a franchise that continues to wander aimlessly. You have to wonder what exactly Kings fans did exactly to deserve everything they have been given for over a decade.
