FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy baseball lineup-June 27
Second Baseman
High-Salary Option: Jose Altuve-Houston Astros (4,200): Altuve has hit safely in all but one of his last 16 games and has a batting average of just about .400 to to with an OPS of over 1.000 for June. Altuve , went 6-14 in the Astros’ three-game set against the Royals this weekend and has even added some nice power with three homers in the last week.
Tonight, he and the Astros take on Matt Shoemaker and the Angels. Altuve is 6-14 against Shoemaker in his career with a pair of homers and a double giving him an OPS of 1.458 against the Angels SP. If you can afford him, Altuve is the top 2B option on the board tonight and a bat to build around.∗∗∗∗
Mid-Range Option: Devon Travis-Toronto Blue Jays (3,800): Travis is hitting atop a potent Blue Jays lineup most nights and will likely hit leadoff again tonight as the Jays pile up runs in the rarified air of Coors Field. Travis has hit safely in three straight and nine of his last ten games. In those ten games, he is 16-38 with three homers. He doesn’t have the stolen base potential of most leadoff hitters (only one all season), but he does definitely still have enough potential to consider a nice option at this price given his situation tonight. ∗∗∗∗
Mid-Range Option: Jean Segura-Arizona Diamondbacks (3,600): Segura has been another very productive option in the Arizona lineup and has really turned things on over the last week. Tonight, at home, I love his matchup against the Phillies, so give him a look as a nice mid-range play at 2B.
Segura has gone 10-26 over the last week with three doubles, eight walks, and five stolen bases. He has an RBI in each of his last three games with a run scored in seven straight. He has been a very nice surprise for the D-Backs this year, and can be a nice option for your lineup tonight.∗∗∗
High Value Option: Jace Peterson-Atlanta Braves (2,600): I really like the top three options on this list at 2B, but if you can’t afford any of them, and you are forced to go cheap check out the Braves Jace Peterson who has been productive since returning from Triple-A.
Peterson has hit safely in each of his last eight starts and went 5-17 in the four-game series with the Mets this weekend. Peterson doesn’t give you much power or stolen base threat, but he makes enough contact to be worth a cheap flier from the leadoff spot even against Trevor Bauer and the Indians.
