NBA free agency: 5 teams for Pau Gasol

If Gasol wants to close out his Hall of Fame career on somewhat of a feel good story, he could return to the Bluffs on the Mississippi River in Western Tennessee and play for his first team in the Memphis Grizzlies.

Gasol helped turn this poor excuse of an expansion team with British Columbia roots into a respectable Western Conference team before heading to Los Angeles to play for the Lakers. Interestingly, Gasol was traded for his younger brother Marc who has since become the symbol of all things Grizzlies basketball.

Though the star on the Spanish National Team, the Gasol Brothers playing together in Memphis would be a great story line for as long as it lasts. Pau Gasol has maybe three more years left and Marc Gasol might be just heading out of his brief prime as an All-Star center.

Memphis should hover around that No. 5 to No. 10 range in the Western Conference hierarchy next season. With both Gasol Brothers en tote for new head coach David Fizdale, there could be a new level of excitement of Grit N’ Grind basketball in Memphis.
