1. Atlanta Hawks

Let’s be honest here, if Al Horford is going to sign anywhere, it’s going to be the Atlanta Hawks. The team just traded Jeff Teague and now they have even more cap space from which to work to re-sign their big man.

In Atlanta, Horford has formed a tremendous tandem up front with Paul Millsap and he’s proven to be one of the best big men in the league. He can get the most money from the Hawks and he’s been nothing but loyal to the city.

Without Horford on the roster, the Hawks would go through a transition period and would probably take a step back. If he chooses to stay, they can remain a competitive team in the Eastern Conference and hope that the young players on their roster step up and put them over the hump.

If it’s a money thing, then Atlanta is the choice. With the way the current CBA is designed, it’s set up to keep players with their current teams. Horford can stay at home, get a bigger paycheck and continue to play with a fantastic team.

The choice seems so simple here. Still, if a team that is closer to a championship meets with him, he will have a tough choice to make.
