Chicago Bulls. Pau Gasol. 3. player. 24. . Center

Pau Gasol is a world champion player, and after missing the NBA playoffs last season, is likely looking to move onto a contender as he reaches the twilight of his career. He is likely to opt out of his deal with the Chicago Bulls, and the Spurs have recently said they will make signing Gasol a priority.

Gasol is a two-time NBA champion, and he played some solid basketball for the Bulls last season. After trading Derrick Rose for practically nothing, the Bulls appear to be in a bit of a rebuilding mode, and Gasol should be able to latch on with a contender of his choice this off-season.

Adrian Wojnarowski recently spoke about the possibility of Gasol heading to San Antonio.

“I’m told that Pau Gasol is a real priority for them,” Wojnarowski said on The Vertical Podcast. “They tried to get him before he signed with Chicago. The Bulls were able to offer him a little bit more than the mid-level that year, I think the Spurs had a mid-level for him. They can maneuver in San Antonio and probably be able to offer him market value. We’ll see what that’s going to be.”

This could be the last shot at a title for Gasol, who will be entering his 15th season in the NBA this season. He can still play, and with Leonard and Aldridge already on the roster, Gasol would be a perfect fit for the Spurs system.

Gasol has been around a long time, and is Duncan does not come back, he can be that solid veteran to help the younger Spurs throughout the season.
