2. Houston Rockets

Despite how poorly this worked out from a chemistry standpoint, not to mention how short the Houston Rockets fell of expectations last year, there’s still a chance the Rockets could make run at re-signing the center in hopes that a new coach and new season would reinvigorate the team and Howard himself.

Well, the first problem with that is that putting Dwight Howard and Mike D’Antoni in the same locker room is like trying to hold a torch next to a nuclear reactor or putting Chad from The Bachelorette in a room with virtually any other human being. Things are going to explode. Things are going to get ugly. Chad is not going to get a rose.

In all seriousness, though, why would the Rockets even want to run this back with Howard? Sure, he’s still a talented player and should theoretically be able to fit with what Houston wants to do on the court, but he’s also proven time and again that he’s not interested in doing what’s best for his team. As such, the Rockets need to move on from Howard. Dipping into that well again would be a poor decision.
