1. New York Knicks

This would be the end-all, be-all of dumpster fires, one dumpster fire to rule them all, Lords of the No Rings.

Regardless of your feelings about the Derrick Rose trade the New York Knicks pulled off, they are now in the market (seemingly) for a center more than ever. And considering the fact they’re the Knicks and they care more about making a splash than they do about thinking, you have to imagine they are going to make a push to sign Dwight Howard.

Let’s first look at how awfully that move would work out from a chemistry standpoint. Carmelo Anthony is a notoriously enigmatic teammate. The same can be said about Rose, especially after all the injuries he’s suffered. Those two alone create a sizable lightning rod for criticism and controversy. Adding Howard in hopes of making things better would be like pouring gasoline on a fire and hoping to make ice.

On top of all that, the Knicks best asset at this point is undoubtedly Kristaps Porzingis, and there is a widely supported belief that playing him as a stretch-five largely would be their best bet. Adding Howard takes that flexibility away from the Knicks and thus stunts the growth of KP6 in addition to the growth of the Knicks as a whole. This would be the absolute worst and, for the sake of the fragile sanity of Knicks fans, someone tell the front office to wash the name Dwight Howard from their brains.
