Daniel Radcliffe would return to Harry Potter with the right script

Daniel Radcliffe says it would take a Star Wars caliber script to return to Harry Potter — but that’s not a no!

It’s a case of never say never for the boy who lived. Daniel Radcliffe says he’s open to a return to the world of Harry Potter if the right script came along.

E News reports that Radcliffe is giving himself some wiggle room: “I’m saying ‘no’ for now, but leaving room to backtrack in the future.”

Radcliffe, who is currently starring in Now You See Me 2, has stayed busy after leaving the Harry Potter world, appearing in a variety of critically acclaimed films and plays.

The circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary. But then I am sure Harrison Ford said that with Han Solo, and look what happened there.

While Radcliffe is in no hurry to reprise his Harry Potter role, he won’t rule out an eventual return to the franchise.  After all, Harrison Ford returned to Star Wars. “The circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary. But then I am sure Harrison Ford said that with Han Solo, and look what happened there.”

Harrison Ford shunned all things Star Wars up until his return to the iconic Han Solo role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015. Many fans were shocked to see that Ford turned up to promote the film at San Diego Comic Con; he would have joined the cast at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim in 2015, but he was recovering from injuries sustained when his plane crashed earlier that year.

Lately it seems that more and more actors are willing to return to iconic roles than ever before, which could be due to the fact that so many Hollywood stars have signed on to comic book and pop culture franchises while continuing to pursue other interests including independent films and theater. In the past, signing on to a pop culture franchise was viewed as a kiss of death, but now it has become the thing to do.

So will we ever see Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter? “No, for now” is a lot better than an outright ‘no.’
