7. Julio Teheran and Arodys Vizcaino to the Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers may face an uphill battle to catch San Francisco in the NL West, but the team still leads the Wild Card race and will be a dangerous foe in the postseason if it can make some additions at the deadline. Injuries have decimated the Dodgers’ starting rotation, while they desperately need bullpen help ahead of Kenley Jansen.

That’s where the rebuilding Braves could come in as a potential trading partner. While Atlanta doesn’t have much of value left on the major league roster, starter Julio Teheran and reliever Arodys Vizcaino figure to be strong trade chips at the deadline.

After a tough 2015 season, Teheran’s value is peaking at the perfect time for Atlanta to trade him, even if GM John Coppolella says otherwise. Teheran has a career-best 2.46 ERA (3.71 FIP) over 16 starts per FanGraphs, and is under contract for at least another three years, up until his age 29 season.

The 25-year-old Vizcaino has burst onto the scene over the past two years and should be the most valuable reliever on the market outside of the Yankees’ duo. After throwing 33.2 strong innings for the Braves as a rookie last year, Vizcaino owns a 2.16 ERA (2.71 FIP) and 46 strikeouts in 33.1 innings this season according to FanGraphs.

Los Angeles needs both, and is one of the few teams who could assemble the required package of prospects while also keeping a strong farm system. The Dodgers also have the resources to do something like eat Nick Markakis’ contract to sweeten the deal if necessary.
