4. Dallas Mavericks

Since winning the 2011 NBA Finals, the Dallas Mavericks seemingly revamp their lineup after every season. They have given players short-term deals in hope of acquiring a big-name free agent in the offseason. However, this has never materialized for them. The only notable player they were able to sign, Chandler Parsons, became a free agent, and it’s no guarantee he returns. Plus, Dirk Nowitzki is a free agent, and if he leaves, then the rebuilding phase for the Mavs would have really begun.

If Nowitzki stays and the Mavs are able to bring in other pieces, expect Dwyane Wade to be an option to join them.

Dallas has plenty of cap space open, as they have just $31 million on the books for 2016-17. They have the freedom to make moves and possibly overpay to get their guy, and if Wade is one of them, they may look to give him a deal that pays him upwards of $20 million. He received this from the Heat in 2015-16.

Wade joining forces with Nowitzki and others would make this one of the oldest rosters in the league. The only productive player they have under 30 is Wesley Matthews, who put up just 12.5 PPG in 78 games. It makes this roster feel even older, which won’t bode well against the young, top teams like the Warriors and Thunder.

Out of all the legitimate options for Wade, the Mavs could have the most cap space, so maybe they’ll give him a look.
