4. Dirk Nowitzki

It’s hard to imagine any scenario where Dirk Nowitizki ever leaves the Dallas Mavericks. However, if the Mavericks can’t add any free agents, Nowitzki might leave Dallas to go chase one last ring while they go into a rebuilding mode.

He’s earned the right to do that at this point in his career and it’s unlikely anyone would blame if he joined the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors could use another big man that can shoot the ball the way Nowitzki does and his veteran leadership would fit right in with a core of players that have a championship mindset.

The good news is that Golden State could pay him what he wants and with the players on their roster, he wouldn’t have to worry about playing too many minutes. This is a move that is not unlike many other veterans at the tail ends of their career joining on with a championship roster.

Imagine a lineup with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Dirk Nowitzki on the floor at the same time. It’s a shooter’s dream and that would certainly be something to watch. The Warriors have been linked to Nowitzki and there is something there to keep an eye on.

If they can’t get Kevin Durant, don’t rule out Dirk Nowitzki.
