San Antonio Spurs: One more star

Before we dive into the Spurs a bit, something has to be said. San Antonio just might be able to beat Golden State without changing anything. The Spurs were historically good during the 2015-2016 season, but the team had the misfortune of running into an angry and talented Thunder team, eliminating the possibility of a Spurs-Warriors series that most NBA fans had dreamed of throughout the campaign. San Antonio remains awesome, and we know that.

Now, the Spurs could seriously create waves if they were able to add yet another star.

San Antonio has been widely linked to pursuits of Kevin Durant, Mike Conley and other top-flight free agents, and that is wildly intriguing. Kawhi Leonard, Tony Parker and LaMarcus Aldridge are definitely back, with indications that Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan are at least considering a return for one more run.

The Spurs would likely have to move on from players like Danny Green and/or Boris Diaw to accommodate another high-end star under the salary cap, but if they have reason to do that, moves can be made. Would a trio of Durant, Leonard and Aldridge be enough to scare Golden State? I think we can safely assume that.
