Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings were actively trading down for more picks on draft night this year. They send out the 8th pick and Marco Bellineli and pulled in 5 prospects, including the rights to sign Bogdan Bogdanovic. It was the kind of move that the King shave needed to make for a long time, getting more assets and prospects instead of trying to buy cap space with their draft picks like last year.

The Kings still have about $10-30 million in cap space too, which isn’t a bad spot to be in for the next two years. They are likely to part ways with Rajon Rondo, and could use a couple veteran backcourt players to compete now. A backup guard or two that could share minutes with some of the younger and developing players on the Kings is a good idea. The Kings are rumored to be targeting Matthew Dellavedova and Dion Waiters, I don’t mind Dellavedova as he is a decent two-way player with serviceable ball handling and a good shooting form. Waiters, as a restricted free agent, however, might be a bit of an overpay for what he brings to the table. But I’d even look at Brandon Jennings or Kent Bazemore. Bazemore, in particular, could be a three-and-D wing that could pair well with Boogie.
