2. Paul Millsap should benefit greatly

Paul Millsap and Al Horford were a fun duo to watch on the court together. Those days might not be over yet with Horford still being a free agent, but Millsap should see a rise in his offensive numbers with the signing of Howard.

If Howard can command the paint on offense, that should allow Millsap’s offensive game to open and potentially get more open looks from deep. If there was a safe bet, getting Howard more involved offensively could really work out for Atlanta.

Horford was a bit more of a shooter and could move around a bit, but a guy like Howard has a set area where he can score the basketball and that should give Millsap more flexibility in his offensive skill set.

When a big signing like Howard occurs, it always affects the players that are around him. Millsap is likely going to be the guy that is up front next to him and he can also light it up around the hoop.

While everyone is wondering how Dennis Schroder and Howard will work on the pick-and-roll, the real question is seeing if Millsap and Howard can work with each other as well as Millsap and Horford did.
