San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs are the highest class of an organization in the NBA. Everybody respects them and there’s good reason for it. They only sign players that will fit into their culture, and they build their rosters around the talent they have, rather than specific schemes. If the talent they have is aimed more towards three-point shooting then they’ll do that. If it’s defensive grind it out basketball with a heavy dose of attack from their big men then they can do that as well. If they sign Kevin Durant then they’ll build their offense around whatever they think will make him the most effective.

The Spurs won 67 games last year, and if they get Durant they might be able to make a run at 70. Greg Popovich is the greatest coach ever. Tim Duncan is heading towards 40 and still finds ways to be effective. This franchise knows how to win better than anybody, and when Durant sees that it’ll be impossible to say no. Signing with San Antonio is a guarantee at title contention for years to come, and with not too young, but not too old, guys like Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge on the roster it looks like they’re not gonna start losing again any time soon. When Durant goes to the Spurs it won’t be about legacy, nightlife, or anything special. It’ll be all about wins and championships. That’s what players go to San Antonio to do, and that’s what he will do.
