Every NBA team’s free agent pitch to Kevin Durant
Utah Jazz
The Jazz are consistently working towards a larger plan. That’s one part of their organization that hasn’t changed since the days of Stockton and Malone in the 90’s. Right now, they’re at the “get talent” part of their plan and they’re close to something really good. Gordon Hayward doesn’t get talked about enough as one of the better wings in the NBA, Rudy Gobert is a monster when defending rim, and they just added a real point guard with George Hill. Except they’re still missing that one piece to put them among the contenders across the west.
Durant will be that piece, and at the very moment they step on the court the Jazz’s players will all form together to form a Voltron-like basketball player that can do literally everything. Quin Snyder will coach Voltron-Durant and he will still look unhappy throughout the entire time, but he’ll do a great job coaching him either way. The organization will find ways to put talent around Durant, and Durant will win games. After a long and happy career with a handful of titles. Durant will quietly retire and join the Jazz’s front office staff providing his insight on the game in new and positive ways. This is his destiny.
