FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy baseball lineup-July 1
High Value OF
Angel Pagan-San Francisco Giants (3,200): Pagan missed time last month with an injury, but he returned strong going 21-60 (.350) in June with six doubles, a homer, and 15 RBI. He is one of the few an Francisco bats with a positive history against tonight’s starter Shelby Miller (3-8) so look for him to try and get the Giants lineup going like he did yesterday from the #2 spot going 2-4 with two walks, two runs scored, and two RBI. ∗∗∗
Cameron Maybin-Detroit Tigers (3,100): Maybin capped the Tigers crazy comeback last night as part of his 3-4 performance with a double and four RBI. He is 11-24 (.458) over the past week and finished June 31-96 (.323). Maybin has been especially effective against lefties this season, and he’ll face southpaw Drew Smyly tonight as he puts his .391 average and 1.022 OPS against lefties on the line. ∗∗∗∗∗
J.B. Shuck-Chicago White Sox (2.700): Shuck has seen increased playing time in the Chicago outfield and his batting average has climbed from .189 to .239 over the past week as a result. In his last five games, Shuck is 8-18, and he’s in a good spot to produce again tonight against Michael Fiers and the Astros. ∗∗
Mitch Moreland-Texas Rangers (2,500): Moreland is a name to check out tonight at just 2.5K tonight as he and the Rangers face Ervin Santana. If Moreland gets the start, look for him to have a big game since he is 8-25 (.320) against Santana in his career with a pair of homers and a 1.014 OPS. Moreland could be a great cheap option especially if he hits in the middle of a very productive Texas lineup. ∗∗∗∗
Peter Bourjos-Philadelphia Philies (2,500): If you prefer recent form to historical BvP numbers, Bourjos is a play to consider at 2.5K. He has hit safely in nine straight games and is 17-36 during that run with a pair of homers. He has been hitting in the #2 spot which has given him some good pitches to hit and made him an interesting fantasy baseball play from his very affordable price. ∗∗
Albert Almora Jr.-Chicago Cubs (2,000): The latest Cubs callus went 1-3 with a double last night after hitting his first MLB home run on Wednesday. He’s a flier especially against Jacob deGrom, but he does have potential to contribute and will likely keep getting playing time since the Cubs are so short on outfielders.∗
