FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy baseball lineup-July 1
Shortstop
High-Salary Option: Carlos Correa-Houston Astros (4,400): Correa finished June with an impressive 1.024 OPS after going 27-89 (.303) with five homers and 22 RBI. He has multiple hits in each of his last two games and in five of his last nine. He has been a little boom-or-bust lately but with over 22 fantasy points in each of those five games he’s worth a look as the Astros host the White Sox tonight. ∗∗∗
Mid-Range Option: Xander Bogaerts-Boston Red Sox (3,300): Bogaerts is averaging more fantasy points per game than any other SS in the Major Leagues. Why does he cost over 1,000 less than Correa and less than the top five options at the position? I’m not really sure, but I know he’s a good buy to take advantage of at this price. He and the Red Sox offense have cooled off a little bit in June, but he still hit .324 with an .815 OPS for the month. He had a night off Tuesday and the day off yesterday, so he should be fresh as he and the Sox try to dodge the rain showers and get in their game against he Angels. If it looks like the game is a go, get X-man in your lineup especially give his healthy .915 OPS at Fenway this season. ∗∗∗∗
Mid-Range Option: Tim Anderson-Chicago White Sox (3,000): Anderson has multiple hits in each of his last four games, and he has hit .407 (11-27) over the last week with two doubles, two homers, and a stolen base. He seems to have settled in very nicely to the leadoff spot in the White Sox order which should produce some runs tonight against Michael Fiers. ∗∗∗∗
High-Value Option: Alexei Ramirez-San Diego Padres (2,400): Ramirez went 2-4 with two doubles on Wednesday to finish out a strong month for San Diego. He ended up 26-98 (.265) with 13 runs scored, 11 RBI, and a pair of homer runs helping his OPS to .682. He is a streaky producer and a solid value tonight as the Padres play the Yankees and Nathan Eovaldi who has been inconsistent throughout the season. Ramirez is risky, but there enough upside to take a flier on him if you have to go cheap. ∗∗
