Ian Desmond-Texas Rangers (4,000): Desmond was held hitless in his last two games but still has managed to produce at least 12 fantasy points in seven of his last ten games. He has been a great addition to the Rangers lineup and crushed June with a .358 average (39-109) while adding five doubles and seven home runs. Desmond is known to be streaky, but he’s definitely rolling right now. Tonight he’ll face Ervin Santana who has held him to just 3-18 but one of those hits was a home run. ∗∗∗
Starling Marte-Pittsburgh Pirates (3,900): Marte is hitting .331 this season after his 29-84 (.345) mark in June. His OPS for the month was .930 thanks to there doubles, four triples, and two home runs. He will be facing Sonny Gray for the second time in his career, but he’s clobbering righties this season with a .939 OPS and a .355 average against RHP. Marte has hit safely in six straight and will look to keep that string going tonight. ∗∗∗∗
Charlie Blackmon-Colorado Rockies (3,800): Blackmon and the Rockies aren’t at Coors Field, but they still have a good matchup as they take on Bud Norris who the Dodgers picked up after the Braves discarded him. Blackmon went 33-106 (.311) in June with six homers, 17 RBI, and a healthy .916 OPS. He doest’ steal a ton of bases, but he does start a ton of offense from his spot atop the Rockies lineup making him a solid play at this price tonight in LA. ∗∗∗
Stephen Piscotty-St. Louis Cardinals (3,800): Piscotty has at least 15 fantasy points in three of his last four games after going 2-6 with a homer yesterday against the Royals. Piscotty is up to .288 after that game yesterday, and he’ll look to keep producing tonight in a good matchup against Matt Garza and the Brewers. ∗∗∗
Mark Trumbo-Baltimore Orioles (3,600): Trumbo went 1-4 last night returning to Seattle where he spend a little bit of time last season. He finished June 32-114 (.281) with seven doubles, eight homers, and 23 RBI. He will try to extend his hitting streak to six games tonight as he faces lefty Wade LeBlanc. Trumbo has crushed both righties and lefties this year in Baltimore, and I love the possible revenge factor behind what could be a big night for him tonight.∗∗∗∗
Nelson Cruz-Seattle Mariners (3,500): Cruz is also taking on his former team as the Mariners face the Orioles but from the opposite perspective of Trumbo. Cruz went 2-2 against Baltimore last night with a walk for a total of 21.2 fantasy points. He has at least 20 fantasy points in three of his last four games and he has crushed lefties like tonight’s starter Kevin Gausman all season. Cruz is 30-97 (.309) against southpaws but his OPS is a very healthy 1.083.∗∗∗∗∗
Yasiel Puig-Los Angeles Dodgers (3,300): Puig is rounding back into form and finished June 11-33 (.333) with a double and a homer both of which came during the last week. He and the Dodgers are home against the Rockies tonight and Puig will face Jorge De La Rosa who he is 2-8 against with a double in his career. Puig’s value will certainly rise if he keeps hitting, so get him at this reduced rate while you can. ∗∗
