After acquiring Derrick Rose from Chicago, the New York Knick are on the brink of bringing in one of his old running mates in Joakim Noah.

Just like Rose, however, Noah has seen his value and productivity go down in recent years.

During the 2013-2014 season, Noah averaged a career best 12.6 points per game. In the past two seasons, he’s averaged 7.2 points and 4.3 points per game respectively.

This past season, Noah only played in 29 games, as his season was hindered with shoulder injuries.

At the age of 31, we’re not sure how much Noah can produce, but Phil Jackson and company apparently feel like he has plenty left in the tank.

As of now, New York is reportedly offering Noah a four-year deal worth $72 million.

That’s $18 million per season.

Now, if Noah does indeed sign the paperwork as we all expect, he could form a fierce front court with 7-foot-3 Kristaps Porzingis.

Noah’s ability to defend, rebound and pass are all qualities the Knicks desire, but at that price, it’s a major risk considering he’s coming off multiple surgeries.

Hey, but at the end of the day, the great Phil Jackson has 11 rings and I have zero, so maybe he truly knows what he’s doing here after all.
