NBA Free Agency 2016: Power Ranking Day 1 signings
By Mark Gunnels
As expected, the Washington Wizards gave Bradley Beal the max. To be exact, Beal agreed to a five-year deal worth about $130 million.
We all know what Bradley Beal brings to the table, but the question is, how often will he be at the table?
This past season, Beal missed 27 games and the year before he missed 19 games.
After missing the playoffs, the Wizards desperately need Beal to stay on the floor. Since they aren’t in the running for the hometown kid Kevin Durant, Beal has to provide help for John Wall on both ends of the floor.
At 6-foot-5, 207 pounds, Beal presents matchup problems for opposing wings across the league.
Washington’s backs were definitely against the wall because no matter what, Beal was going to get a max contract and if they didn’t cave in, Wall would’ve been left by himself essentially.
But if Beal gets hurt again, Wall will still be by himself.
As a fan of the game it’s so frustrating because this tandem could be one of the best back courts in the NBA, but the sample size is just entirely too small at this point.
