2. Warriors lose depth

The Warriors adding Kevin Durant means everybody and their mother has the Warriors winning the NBA Finals. The question now is, how much do the Warriors lose by adding Durant?

We already know that Harrison Barnes is gone. The easy swap of Barnes for Durant should be no issue. However, now reports are coming that Andrew Bogut must be traded in order for Durant to sign. While Bogut is not the key to the Finals, his injury in game five may have swung the tides to the Cavaliers.

The Warriors also will be dealing with Festus Ezeli, Marreese Speights, and Anderson Varejao all being free agents. That is without mention that they need to try to retain Leandro Barbosa, their underrated scoring guard off of the bench. While a few of these guys will likely take a pay cut to stay in Golden State, there is no doubt the Warriors are hindering their size with this move.

As mentioned, the size of the Thunder just so happens to be their strongest asset now. It will set up a battle of pace and style. The Warriors will try to run the Thunder out of the gym. The Thunder will try to match up Kanter and Adams on the likes of the smaller Durant and Draymond Green to wear them down physically.

When it comes to an 82-game season, plus multiple playoff series, attrition and depth matter. When comparing the Thunder to the Warriors, if the two were to get into a bloodbath, the Thunder should have that advantage. They should have the bodies to wear the Warriors down, and should certainly beat them on the glass. It is a similar recipe to what killed the Warriors last year, and this year the Thunder may be able to take advantage.
