Andre Drummond doesn’t think the Warriors are a big team with Kevin Durant
Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond is not impressed with the Golden State Warriors even after they added Kevin Durant.
The entire NBA was shaken up by Kevin Durant’s decision to sign with the Golden State Warriors. It makes a team that was one game away from winning back-to-back NBA Titles that much better. The Warriors unquestionably have two of the top three players in the league and arguably four of the top 15. Consider Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond to be among those who aren’t that impressed by the Warriors.

Drummond makes an excellent point. Sure, any team with Durant, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson is going to light up the scoreboard. Draymond Green adds an entirely different dimension to that offense. However, the Warriors are going to be a far less big team without Andrew Bogut patrolling the paint. Can Green help make up for that loss? Probably not.
Of course, Durant isn’t soft on defense. However, he’s not your traditional big man, in that he’s better covering the perimeter and relies more on his quickness than his strength. Will bigger teams be able to take advantage of the small Warriors? Perhaps.
That said, any big team is likely going to have nightmares trying to cover three of the best shooters in the NBA. The Warriors will need to add some size to their roster if they want to cover all of their potential flaws. Because size might be the lone issue with the Warriors right now.
