Twitter absolutely burst into flames when Kevin Durant announced his decision to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and sign with the Golden State Warriors.

Kevin Durant has officially made his decision to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and go to the Golden State Warriors. It was a decision that shocked everyone across the league and the fallout from Durant going to the Warriors could start almost immediately. Now the Thunder will be looking to add some talent. The Celtics will likely explore looking at adding talent since they now have a lot of cap space.

Everybody was surprised by this decision. Journalists, media, fans, and players expressed their thoughts. Everyone knew that the Warriors had a great chance of stealing Durant from the Thunder, but nobody thought that Durant would leave the franchise that drafted him and he helped rebuild from the ground up.

Too bad Twitter wasn’t as huge in 2010 as it is now. It would be very interesting to compare how people compare Durant leaving for the Warriors to LeBron James leaving to sign with the Miami Heat. Equally shocking decisions. Just like James going to the Heat, the league will never be the same thanks to Durant going to the Warriors.
