5. Stick to the winning formula

At the end of the day, the best game plan for dos Anjos will be a familiar one when looking back at the rest of his career because he has clearly found the winning formula time after time inside of the Octagon. A UFC record of 10-1 since 2012 speaking for itself when it comes to dos Anjos’ winning method in the lightweight division.

It goes without saying that dos Anjos should look to touch on his long stretch of prior successes for the answer on how to beat Alvarez as Alvarez doesn’t provide anything that dos Anjos hasn’t seen before in his UFC career.

Alvarez is a normal fighter who doesn’t excel in any one particular area, which will make it easy for dos Anjos to prepare for as he is going up against a fighter who he should outmatched in nearly every aspect of MMA. Making this a fight in which dos Anjos should be well prepared for whatever Alvarez comes up with.

If dos Anjos can continue to find his form in this fight it is hard to see Alvarez having much of a chance to come up with the upset. As long as the champ can stick to his winning formula and continue his unstoppable run there is little reason to expect anything other than a successful title defense for dos Anjos to build his legacy as one of the best fighters in the history of the Lightweight division.
