FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy baseball lineup-July 5
Shortstop
High-Salary Option: Corey Seager-Los Angeles Dodgers (4,000): Seager has collected multiple hits in four of his last five games and has hit safely in 17 straight starts. He finished June with a .343 average and a 1.085 OPS and has shown no signs of slowing down as we head into July. Last night, Seater went 2-4 with a triple, run scored, and RBI. He has an impressive .903 OPS so far this season and is truly an emerging star for the Dodgers. ∗∗∗
Mid-Range Option: Xander Bogaerts-Boston Red Sox (3,500): Bogaerts continues to be a bit under-priced on FanDuel and produces big numbers most nights for the Red Sox and his fantasy owners. Bogaerts has at least six fantasy points in six of his last eight games and 12.2 fantasy points and 21.4 fantasy points in his last two games. Boston will host the Rangers tonight at Fenway in what should be another high-scoring game, so look for Bogaerts to be right in the middle of the action again tonight against A.J. Griffin. ∗∗∗∗
Mid-Range Option: Jonathan Villar-Milwaukee Brewers (3,400): Villar has hit lefties well all season going 27-86 (.314) with a pair of homers and six coddles for a nice .869 OPS. Villar has gone 0-9 in his last two games, but he’s 3-4 in his career against tonight’s starter Gio Gonzalez making him a boom-or-bust candidate to produce in D.C. tonight. ∗∗
High-Value Option: Tim Anderson-Chicago White Sox (2,800): Another leadoff-hitting SS with fantasy potential tonight is Tim Anderson who leads the White Sox against the Yankees and Masahiro Tanaka tonight. Anderson has collected multiple hits in six of his last eight games while connecting on three homers in his last nine contests. Anderson has collected at least nine fantasy points in nine of his last ten games with over 28 in four of his last nine. He’s emerged as a key part of the White Sox lineup and can be a nice fantasy option even though he doesn’t bring elite speed with a ton of stolen bases (just two this year). ∗∗∗∗
High-Value Option: Andrelton Simmons-Los Angeles Angels (2,400): Simmons is 17-42 over his last 11 games, and he seems to be settling in after a long sting on the DL. He is still hitting at the bottom of the Angels lineup and will need to move into a better spot before he starts racking up the runs and RBI which are so important to fantasy value, but he’s a nice buy at this price as the Angels look to beat the Rays in Tampa tonight. ∗∗
