First Baseman

High-Salary Option: Edwin Encarnacion-Toronto Blue Jays (4,500): Encarnacion collected two more hits last night and now has five multi-hit games in his last nine contests and has posted over 12 fantasy points in six of those games.  He continues to be a force from the middle of the Jays’ lineup and is 7-19 (.368) so far in July. Tonight, he’ll face Ian Kennedy for the first time in his career, but his home split at Rodgers Centre (.944 OPS) is enough to consider him as a solid option if you have the money tonight. ∗∗∗

Mid-range Option: Eric Hosmer-Kansas City Royals (3,700): Hosmer has quietly hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games and raised his average to .305 on the season. He went 2-4 with a run scored for 9.2 fantasy points last night, and he should be able to produce tonight against Marcus Stroman in Toronto.∗∗∗

Mid-range Option: Hanley Ramirez-Boston Red Sox (3,600): Ramirez came through with two walks and a stolen base for 18 fantasy points last night for my FanDuel daily picks and now has at least 12 fantasy points in five of his last six games. He takes on Martin Perez tonight and is one of the few Red Sox bats that excels against southpaws coming into tonight 23-63 (.365) against them this season with a 1.071 OPS.∗∗∗∗∗

High-Value Option: Kendrys Morales-Kansas City Royals (2,800): Morales has hit seven homers in his last ten games and has posted at least 12 fantasy points in eight of his last 11.  He won AL Player of the Week honors last week, but he remains affordable tonight against Marcus Stroman who he has gone 2-3 against in previous meetings. ∗∗∗∗

High-Value Option: David Freese-Pittsburgh Pirates  (2,800): Freese continued to terrorize his former team going 2-4 against St. Louis for the second night in a row last night.  He has hit safely in nine of his last ten games with at least six fantasy points in each of those nine contests and over 18 fantasy points in three of his last seven.  He hasn’t faced Jaime Garcia before in his career, but he has gone 12-34 (.353) against the Cards this season and has always hit well at Busch Stadium where he’ll play again tonight.∗∗∗

High-Value Option: C.J. Cron-Los Angeles Angels  (2,700): Cron ripped two more homers last night in Tampa and now has five in his last five games while putting up three games of over 30 fantasy points. He has totaled just three fantasy points in his other two contest during that timespan, and is a boom-or-bust play tonight as he faces Drew Smyly.
