1. New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans are hoping that they can actually start building a team around Anthony Davis and not waste the best years of his career in the league. It all started when they drafted Buddy Hield and then signed Solomon Hill and E’Twaun Moore in free agency.

Now, committing $86 million to two guys who combined to average barely 11 points a game is a huge risk and could be one of the biggest mistakes of free agency if it doesn’t pan out. Keep those deals in mind the next time owners want an amnesty clause.

However, they do bring depth to the roster and the Pelicans add a young piece to build around in Hield. So, the Pelicans are starting to look a little better than the mismatched roster that they first tried to put around Davis.

However, they still need to get a lot more help around him and adding some scoring in Rudy Gay could be just the move that they need. They have the pieces and assets to make a trade with Sacramento and Gay could slot right in next to Davis in many sets on the floor.

He would fit perfectly into the type of offense that head coach Alvin Gentry likes to run and he might even see an improvement in his outside shooting.

This is probably his best potential landing spot.
