AL Rookie of the Year

1. player. 63.
If injected with truth serum, I would tell you that Michael Fulmer isn’t the name I expect to finish at the top of this list in October. However, the 23-year-old has been fantastic to this point in the campaign. Fulmer owns a 2.11 ERA that would lead the American League if he had enough innings to qualify, and it isn’t as if this is over a tiny sample. The right-hander has made 13 starts and thrown nearly 80 innings, and while Fulmer’s peripherals indicate this level of performance probably won’t last, it’s been a lot of fun to consume.
. SP. Detroit Tigers. Michael Fulmer

OF. Texas Rangers. Nomar Mazara. 2. player. 95.
Mazara has predictably cooled off since a blazing start, but he’s been an important contributor to the Rangers’ success. The powerful outfielder holds a .750 OPS over more than 300 PA, and with 11 home runs and above-average defense, that is a good recipe in a weak AL rookie class this season.
