1.Jay Bruce to Giants

Jay Bruce is another Red with a no trade clause. However, he said he would waive his no trade clause if it meant that he were able to play for a contender. The Giants sure are a contender.

They currently have the most wins in the MLB by three. If you believe in the every other year theory, they have already won this year’s World Series. They have the postseason success, the team and the manager to win this year.

Their biggest weakness heading into late summer would have to be their outfield. Since Hunter Pence went down to injury they have shuffled a few players but have yet to find much success, especially offensively. Of their current five outfielders, Angel Pagan, Mac Williamson, Jarrett Parker, Gregor Blanco, and Denard Span they have 17 combined home runs. Bruce has 18 at this point.

Pence should be back around the trade deadline, but even with Pence they will need the help on offense. Williamson is a right handed hitter and has been a proven good defender and could serve as a strong platoon with the righty mashing Bruce.

An outfield of Bruce, Pence and Pagan with Span and Williamson rotating in would be a major upgrade over the murky look it has right now.

The Giants have had reported interest, and if Phillips and Votto are going to be harder to trade, they may have to jump on what they can get. It would be a good fit for Bruce, and the Reds should be able to salvage something out of play in Cincinnati.
