3. Boone Logan to Rangers

While McGee is valued mainly for experience in the ninth inning, Boone Logan has been the better pitcher in 2016. Therefore there is a chance the Rockies can find an even greater haul for him.

Logan has been a bit of a journeyman but has really settled down in 2016. He has a 3.18 ERA and is striking out 11.5 batters per nine, while walking 3.1. He is doing it in the ridiculously tough Coors Field as well.

Logan is a left handed reliever that seems to be so valuable in the MLB. That all said, this is a perfect example of striking while the iron is hot.

The Rangers are a team that needs pitching badly. Their bullpen ranks 29th in the MLB in ERA. They have shuffled the closer position already this year as well. They are sitting in first place in their division and have a strong farm system behind them. If anyone is going to overpay for what Logan might give them it is the Texas Rangers.

Logan is 31 and is a free agent after this season. The Rockies need a lot more than just a veteran left handed reliever. They need to build a core. Holding onto Logan and watching him potentially fall back into a journeyman next season would be a tough pill to swallow. They should ship him off, bring in whatever they can get and hope that he does not turn into a stud in the postseason this year.
