At this point, if you haven’t heard of Pokemon GO, we’ll also just assume you haven’t heard of the internet.

Nintendo and Niantic’s collaboration is the latest thing to be sweeping through all the pop culture outlets. Memes? There are plenty of Pokemon GO meme lists out there, just waiting for you to laugh at them. Users? The game now has more users than Twitter. Celebrity endorsements? Considering the fact that John Mayer spent $100 on Pokecoins, the game’s in-app currency, I think it’s safe to say that many celebs are out there in the world just like us, trying to be the very best like no one ever was.

Not wanting to be left out of the fun, many college and professional sports teams have also jumped full force into the Pokemon GO craze, and they’re not afraid to show it.

For example, I recently found out Pidgey has a thing for the Fighting Irish.

Pinsir, however, is all in for the USC Trojans.

Infestations of Pokemon have been discovered at various NFL franchises across the country.

The Pokemon don’t just stop there though. Oh no, we’re just getting started because the NBA has seen them too.

So has the MLS.

Not to be outdone, the LA Kings took the idea of Pokemon GO and did their own spin on it.

If only retaining your best players was as easy as throwing Pokeballs at them, am I right?

Perhaps best of all, the WWE discovered that their headquarters is actually a Pokemon gym in the game. I feel like the game developers must have done that on purpose…

I think it’s fair to say that Pokemon GO is no longer just a nerd thing. It’s a part of our society now. We are just going to have to learn to live with Pokemon among us. I mean, if Super Bowl-champion Julian Edelman can do it so can we.
