Third Baseman

High-Salary Option: Justin Turner-Los Angeles Dodgers (3,800):  Turner continued his strong start to July going 2-4 last night with a home run on his way to 30.9 fantasy points. He has at least 25 fantasy points in three of his last six games dating back to before the break and is 12-41 (.293) with three homers and six RBI this month.  He is 1-4 with a home run in his career against Archie Bradley and has made it a habit to crush the Diamondbacks this season going 8-23 (.348) against the Snakes with a 1.135 OPS.∗∗∗∗

Mid-Range Option: Jake Lamb-Arizona Diamondbacks (3,400)Lamb went 2-4 on the other side of last night’s NL West showdown totaling 9.5 fantasy points and giving him at least that many in eight of his last 11 contests.  Lamb has started July 11-33 (.333) with two triples and three homers.  He has a robust .983 OPS coming into tonight’s matchup against Brandon McCarthy, and is even better at home (1.016 OPS) against righties (1.043 OPS) making him a great option at under 3.5 K tonight.∗∗∗∗∗

Mid-Range Option: Cheslor Cuthbert-Kansas City Royals (3,200): Cuthbert has hit in five straight and nine of his last ten.  He has started July 13-39 (.333) with three doubles and a homer.  He hasn’t faced Mike Pelfrey yet in his career, but he should be in a place to produce tonight even if his ceiling isn’t nearly as high as Lamb’s or Turner’s.∗∗

Mid-Range Option: Jose Ramirez-Cleveland Indians (2,900)Ramirez has started July 15-48 (.313) with a pair of doubles and nine RBI.   He has multiple hits in two of his last three games after going 2-4 last night with a pair of RBI. He has lifted his average to .298 on the year and is a “safe” play tonight in Minnesota against Tyler Duffey and the Twins even though he doesn’t have a ton of power potential scored so far this month and will face Logan Verrett it a getable matchup tonight at Citizens Bank Park.∗∗∗

Mid-Range Option: Maikel Franco-Philadelphia Phillies (2,900): Franco had hit safely in ten in a row before going 0-4 last night.  He did drive in a run, though, and continues to be a solid play at this price tonight.  He is 18-44 (.409) with 12 RBI and 11 runs scored so far this month and will face Logan Verrett it a getable matchup tonight at Citizens Bank Park. Franco is slightly more risky than Ramirez, but he also has a higher ceiling based on his power potential.∗∗∗∗

High-Value Option: Yangervis Solarte-San Diego Padres (2,600): Even in a matchup against Jeff Samardzija, I like Solarte tonight as the Padres look to make it two in a row over their division rivals to start the second half.  Last night, Solarte went 1-4 with a double and an RBI for 9.5 fantasy points. He has at least nine fantasy points in five of his last six games and seven of his last nine. Solarte has started July 15-44 (.341) with four homers and 13 RBI He is 2-4 in his career against Samardzija with a pair of walks, so don’t let the matchup scare you away from a great value in Solarte tonight at Petco.∗∗∗
