FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy baseball lineup-July 18

High-Salary Option: Matt Wieters-Baltimore Orioles (3,400): Wieters is the most expensive option on the board tonight behind the place due in large part to his great history against tonight’s starter Ivan Nova. Wieters is 13-37 against Nova in his career with four homers, seven RBI, and seven walks resulting in a downright impressive 1.211 OPS. Wieters got the day off yesterday and is just 5-36 (.139) to start the month, but with that kind of BvP history, it’s easy to see why many think Nova is the perfect opponent for Wieters to face as he looks to get his bat going in the second half.∗∗
Mid-range Option: Stephen Vogt-Oakland Athletics (3,300): If you prefer a batter with more current form than Wieters, check out Stephen Vogt of th A’s who has quietly been heating up his month. He is 12-31 (.387) in July with a double, triple, and a pair of home runs and went 4-7 in the Athletics’ two games after the break before taking a day off yesterday.
Tonight, Vogt and the A’s face Mike Fiers and the Astros. So far this season, Vogt has troubled Houston going 13-32 (.406) with a 1.176 OPS against them. He’ll look to keep up his recent roll and his production against his division rivals in a good matchup tonight.∗∗∗∗
High-Value Option: J.T. Realmuto-Miami Marlins (2,900): Realmuto got yesterday off after going 0-4 on Saturday, but he’s still a blistering 15-42 (.357) so far in July with ten runs scored, a home run, and three RBI. I like to use him in good matchups for the Marlins since he often hits leadoff and is very involved in most of the Marlins production. He is 0-3 with an RBI against tonight’s starter Andrew Nola, but since he thrives against right-handed pitching (.346 with a .832 OPS) look for a solid game from Realmuto even though he costs under 3K.∗∗∗∗
High-Value Option: Derek Norris-San Diego Padres (2,400): Norris is my favorite option tonight under 2.5K as he and the Padres take on the Cardinals in St. Louis. Norris collected hits in each of the Padres’ first two games after the break and only served as a pinch-hitter yesterday. He is hitting slightly better on the road than at home for San Diego with a .701 OPS away from Petco Park. Norris has gone 8-37 (.216) to start the month but does have two doubles and two homers showing off his potential upside. ∗∗
