4. San Francisco Giants

Joe Panik was productive before being sidelined by a concussion in late-June, with seven home runs and 36 RBI, and he has started a rehab assignment as he works his way back. Panik is hardly a detriment offensively, as he hit over .300 in both 2014 and 2015, but durability may be becoming a concern after a back issue limited him late last season.

The Giants are fourth in the National League in runs scored (434; 4.67 per game), but they are toward the bottom of the Senior Circuit in home runs with 22 of their 80 home runs coming from catcher Buster Posey (12) and first baseman Brandon Belt (10).

A pitcher-friendly home park has not really hindered Dozier’s home run totals in Minnesota, so it’s easy to see him remaining a noteworthy power hitter with a move to San Francisco.

There is not necessarily an urgent need to make a trade before the deadline, as San Francisco is currently leading the National League West with a solid 5.5-game lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers. But Dozier is an intriguing potential target, depending on what the Twins would require in return, and the Giants generally aren’t afraid to make waves at the trade deadline.
