2. Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays are in a perfect situation to pick up a pitcher like Tyson Ross. He can help them in the here and now, but it is not a priority to rush him back which helps with his injury. He also provides help for the Blue Jays moving forward, and if they feel that they can re-sign him next year they should jump on the chance to acquire him at a discount.

The Blue Jays have a strong rotation this year but still are entering the second half of the season with some questions. The big one being Aaron Sanchez.

Sanchez is having a great season and made the All-Star game in his first season in the rotation. However, he has pitched 118 innings this year. The most innings he has pitched in the majors is 101, and the most he has pitched in his life is 120 innings. His next start will be taking his arm to a place it never been.

We have seen rookies struggle with major inning increases before. The Blue Jays are aware and have debated moving Sanchez to the bullpen to limit his innings. What they could do is wait for Ross to get to healthy so they have an excuse to bump Sanchez to the bullpen.

Looking to this off-season R.A. Dickey is a free agent. At that point, they could either decide to extend the 41-year old knuckleballer or the 29-year old Ross who their doctors signed off on and has all of the stuff to have a few more prime seasons in him.

Entering 2016 with a rotation of Marcus Stroman, Aaron Sanchez, Ross, Marco Estrada, and JA Happ on paper could give the Blue Jays the best team in MLB.
