High Value OF

Billy Hamilton-Cincinnati Reds (3,200): Hamilton has hit safely in five straight and in seven of his last eight games.  He stole three bases last night for the second time in his last four games and finished with 33.4 fantasy points. Hamilton is always a threat to pile up points if he can fine a way to get on base, and since he is 9-26 (.346) over the last week, he’s been causing plenty of havoc for Cincinnati. He’ll take on Robbie Ray and the D-Backs tonight which could be a little tricky since Ray is a lefty and usually limits the run game, but I still love his upside at this price.

Michael Bourn-Arizona Diamondbacks (2,800): Bourn has been productive since the All Star break going 9-25 (.360) with two doubles, a triple, and a stolen base.  He has a solid .905 OPS over that span and is hitting .271 with a .701 OPS on the season.  He doesn’t bring a lot of power, but I think he’s a decent value play in a favorable matchup in Cincinnati.

Jake Smolinksi-Oakland Athletics (2,600): Smolinski has hit in five straight games for the A’s and is 7-16 during that run. Two nights ago he connected on his fifth homer of the season in the first game against the Rays and then followed that with a 3-5 night last night. He will likely get the start again tonight against lefty Drew Smyly since he is 17-45 (.378) against southpaws this season with a 1.218 OPS.  He’s a sleeper play that I like a lot in a getable matchup at home tonight.

Scott Van Slyke-Los Angeles Dodgers (2,300): With Yasiel Puig hurting and Trayce Thompson on the DL, Van Slyke has been getting extra playing time on this Dodgers’ road trip.  Van Slyke went 2-7 with a double yesterday and is not hitting .306 (11-36) this month.  He doesn’t bring a ton of power, but he is part of a pretty good lineup that needs him to contribute making him an interesting option at this price.

Julio Borbon-Baltimore Orioles (2,200): Another player pressed into service due to multiple injuries in front of him, Borbon has gone 1-3 in each of the last two games for the O’s filling in for Hyun Soo Kim and Joey Rickard.  With both still a ways from returning, Borbon is a nice way to get a player with speed in a lineup that produces runs.
