Henrik Stenson (10,500): The Swede edged out Phil Mickelson at Royal Troon to become the first Swedish Major Champion and will be looking for an encore just two weeks later. Stenson has four top-ten’s in his nine appearances at the PGA Championship and finished third in goth 2013 and 2014.  His season so far has been up-and-down, so I see him as a boom-or-bust play that will likely end up being over-owned in GPP play this week.

Phil Mickelson (10,200): Mickelson was runner-up to Stenson two weeks ago despite a bogey-free 65.  He played great all week but was just edged out coming down the stretch.  He’ll hope to duplicate the same form this week as he tries to win his second career PGA Championship.  He won his first back in 2005 on this same course with some final hole heroics (which will be oft-replayed this week).  Mickelson has been in the top 20 in six of the ten PGA Championships since his triumph at Baltusrol.

So far this season, Mickelson has shown great form with six top-ten’s including four finishes in the top three.  He hasn’t won since the Open Championship three years ago, but I think he has a good shot to finish the job this week.  He’s a nice price, and you know Lefty will again be a crowd favorite this close to New York City as he goes for the win this week
