DraftKings fantasy golf picks: PGA Championship 2016
Under 6,500
David Lingmerth (6,300): If you’re taking a player from this group, you’re taking a high-risk flier on someone you think has some upside. Lingmerth missed the cut at both Opens in Scotland, but he did have a solid run of four tournaments prior to that including a 12th-place finish at the U.S. Open and a t7 at the WGC-Bridgestone.
Andy Sullivan (6,100): Sullivan is my favorite cheap play of the week as the Englishman looks for his seventh straight worldwide top-25. He finished t12 at The Open two weeks ago after top-tens at the Scottish Open and the Open de France. He missed the cut at the PGA Championship last year, but he is one of the few players under 6.5K with the game to actually compete with the best players in the world.
Vijay Singh (5,600): Singh has been showing he may still have something left in the tank at the young age of 53. Singh did miss the cut at The Open after a 69-79, but he has made the cut in every other event he has played since The Masters (seven events). Last week, he was t59 at Glen Abbey, but he was runner-up just three weeks ago at the Quicken Loans National where he finished with a scorching 65. Singh won his first PGA Championship back in 1998 at Sahalee Country Club in Washington and also claimed the Wanamaker at the Whistling Straits in 2004. Overall, he has made the cut in 17 of his 24 career trips to the PGA Championship and finished t5 at Balustrol in 2005. He hasn’t finished in the top ten at the PGA Championship since then, but he has enough form to at least be worth a look as a flier this week at his rock-bottom price.
