123. . NFC. East. Dallas Cowboys. 2. player

If any team in 2015 understood the importance of quarterback depth in an increasingly passing-centric league, it was the Dallas Cowboys. Their star quarterback Tony Romo broke his collarbone twice and Dallas couldn’t even achieve regular first downs, despite having the league’s most complete offensive line.

With a healthy Romo, Dallas can absolutely win the NFC East over the Washington Redskins, the New York Giants, and the Philadelphia Eagles. Should he get hurt again, 4-12 seems almost certain.

The Cowboys might like what they have in former Mississippi State Bulldogs star Dak Prescott going forward, but he’s very much a work-in-progress coming from a run-heavy Dan Mullen offense in Starkville. Southpaw Kellen Moore won a ton of games at Boise State, but he’s too slight of build to have long-term success as a backup quarterback. Dallas also has former UTEP signal caller Jameill Showers in its quarterback room.

Simply put, Dallas absolutely cannot afford to not be prepared for the worst case scenario at the quarterback position: losing Romo for any extended time. Prescott could be intriguing and Moore could theoretically spot start, but having more of a sure thing if Foles could help the Cowboys win the NFC East if they have to play a few games without Romo this fall.
