DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy baseball lineup-July 28
Catcher
High-Price Option: J.T. Realmuto-Miami Marlins (3,900): Realmuto went 3-4 on Wednesday against the Phillies to raise his average on the season to a solid .313 with a .764 OPS. He usually hits leadoff for the Marlins which is an unusual benefit for a backstop. Realmuto is hitting .344 against righties, so he should be lined up for a good game against Michael Wacha although he didn’t face him in his last start against Miami. ∗∗∗
Mid-Range Option: Willson Contreras-Chicago Cubs (3,200): Contreras hasn’t started the last two days against the White Sox, but I suspect he’ll be back in the lineup tonight as the Cubs look to earn a series split taking on Chris Sale. Contreras has hit lefties well going 12-37 (.324) with a homer against hem in his limited time int he Majors and also has strong splits at Wrigley Field. Still, facing Chris Sale is never an easy matchup, so proceed with a bit of caution if you do decide to roster Contreras tonight. ∗∗
Mid-Range Option: Kurt Suzuki-Minnesota Twins (3,100): Suzuki has hit safely in six of his last seven games and is 18-54 (.333) this month with a pair of homers and an even ten RBI. Tonight, I really like the Twins lineup as a good source of value as they take on the struggling Ubaldo Jimenez who Suzuki is 1-5 against in his career with that one hit being a home run. I like Suzuki at this price as long as he gets the start behind the plate again tonight in Baltimore.∗∗∗
High-Value Option: Sandy Leon-Boston Red Sox (2,900): Leon should be in the lineup tonight against Jered Weaver for the Red Sox who have struggled offensively over their last few games. Leon continues to put together a very nice season, though, and enters tonight with a 1.070 OPS and a .388 batting average. He hasn’t faced Jered Weaver before in his career but is 11-22 (.500) on the road this year with a crazy 1.451 OPS in the small sample size. He’s not a sure thing, but he’s a great option at less than 3K. ∗∗∗∗∗
High-Value Option: Jett Bandy-Los Angeles Angels (2,600): Bandy will likely get another start tonight for the Angels since the Red Sox are starting lefty David Price. He’s platooning behind the dish with Carlos Perez while Geovany Soto is sidelined and has gone 8-22 (.364) against southpaws this season with a 1.189 OPS against them. He did go 0-4 last night in a start against southpaw Danny Duffy, but I still think he’s a solid play tonight against Price who has been being hit hard lately.∗∗∗
