Shortstop

High-Salary Option: Xander Bogaerts-Boston Red Sox (4,800): Bogaerts is a pricey play tonight as the Red Sox hit LA, but that’s because he’s about the only big-name SS scheduled to be in action and has been heating up lately.  Over his last seven games, Bogaerts has five contests with at least 11 fantasy points.  He has gone 14-29 (.483) over the last week with a pair of doubles and a home run.  Tonight, he’ll take on Jered Weaver who he is 0-5 against in the past, but he still stands out as the best bat available at the position.

Mid-Range Option: Elvis Andrus-Texas Rangers (3,300): Andrus is 21-64 (.311) this month and has  an OPS over .800 at home (.810) and at night (.813).  He will look to continue both those trends tonight against Yordano Ventura and the Royals.  In his career, Andrus has gone 2-9 against Ventura with a double, an RBI, and four walks.

High-Value Option: J.J. Hardy-Baltimore Orioles (3,000): Hardy is 8-19 (.421) over the last week and 25-72 (.347) for the month of July.  He continues to get plenty of playing time for the O’s even though he hasn’t quite found the home run stroke he has had the last few years.  Hardy does have a home run in his history against tonight’s starter Kyle Gibson and comes in 3-7 with a double and a homer giving him a nice OPS of 1.500 against the Twins’ scheduled starter.∗∗∗
