No matter how you look at it, the South is absolutely loaded with offensive skill position players. Not only do they have reigning league MVP Cam Newton at quarterback and arguably the best running back in the game in Adrian Peterson, the South had their choice of the best receivers in the NFL.
I decided to go with Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham and Julio Jones, but guys like DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green and Dez Bryant could have just as easily been selected to start. The South is loaded with impact receivers, and it was tough to only choose three.
The tight end Charles Clay leaves plenty to be desired, but with so many impact receivers on the roster, it does not really matter. There are only so many balls to go around anyway.
Up front, the South probably only trails the Midwest in offensive line play. The combination of Trent Williams and Andrew Whitworth at tackle is as good as it gets, while the interior play of Josh Sitton, Mitch Morse and Trai Turner brings a great combination of raw power and athleticism.
Newton himself is the best play-maker in the NFL, showing a rare ability to make plays as both a runner and a receiver. In this offense, he has the great Adrian Peterson to help carry some of the load, along with the best receivers that the NFL has to offer.
This South offense would put up some major offensive production.
