Under 6,500

Russell Henley (6,400): Henley is a boom-or-bust play, but he seems underpriced this week at just 6,400.  He finished t7 at the St. Jude Classic in early June before missing cuts at the Quicken Loans and The Open Championship.  Last week, he shot three 68’s along with a 72 to finish t22 at the PGA Championship and will look to build on that momentum this week.  He will be making his first start at the Travelers which ups the risk (and the potential) even more.

Michael Thompson (6,200): Thompson is coming off a t4 at the Barbasol and a t14 at the RBC Canadian Open.  He barely made the cut two weeks ago at Glen Abbey before a hot weekend of 66-69 boosted him all the way to that t14. He didn’t qualify for any of the Majors this year, but his form is enough to take a flier on him this week especially since he did post a solo-fourth back in 2011 at the Travelers when he shot a blistering 62 on Sunday to finish two strokes behind Fredrik Jacobson.

Billy Hurley (5,900): Hurley has been solid since picking up his first PGA Tour win earlier this season at the Quicken Loans Nationals.  Since then, he ended up t36 at the WGC-Bridgestone, t49 at the Canadian Open, and a solid t22 last week at the PGA Championship.  He’s a solid cheap flier if you’re stocking your lineup with big names and need a sub 6K play. Hurley made the cut in his only trip to this event in the past finishing t57 in 2014.
