Gisele Bundchen made her final stroll down the catwalk ever on Friday in Rio at the 2016 Olympics Opening Ceremonies

Denying the place of Gisele Bundchen in the world of modeling and fashion would be turning a blind eye to the reality of it. Gisele has been a stalwart in the industry for seemingly forever at this point, but the real story as of late hasn’t been about her husband’s four-game suspension but has been about her retirement from modeling. As it turns out, her last walk down the runway came on Friday night in Rio at the Olympics Opening Ceremonies.

As the history of Brasil was being told by performers from the host country at the Olympics Opening Ceremonies, Gisele came onto the massive catwalk in a stunning gown and walked the runway one final time as she stood in as “The Girl from Ipamena.” It was an incredible moment for the Brazilian supermodel on so many levels:

Not only does the 36-year-old Gisele look like she could still be hitting the runway for the next decade, but it’s also such an incredible moment that’s almost bigger than it being her last walk in this profession.

Even when you have groups of the best athletes in the world and from Brazil at the Olympics, it’s hard to argue with the fact that Gisele is one of the biggest nationals from the host nation. So to see her deliver this type of transcendent moment on this stage at the Olympics Opening Ceremonies is truly magnificent.
