NL MVP

The NL MVP race isn’t exactly a runaway, but at the same time, the front-runner seems easy to find. Bryant leads the league in both fWAR (5.7) and bWAR (5.2) by solid margins, and given that he plays for one of the best teams in baseball, the narrative is also strong. The 24-year-old plays multiple defensive positions at a high level, bringing extra value to the table, and Bryant’s production at the plate has been dominant. At this juncture, he holds a 147 wRC+ on the back of 27 home runs and a .285/.386/.543 slash line, and if Bryant can keep this pace, he’s the likely winner.
. 3B/OF. Chicago Cubs. He is the runaway favorite to capture the Rookie of the Year award, and while he likely won’t win MVP, Seager’s combination of elite defense and a strong bat at a premium position is incredibly valuable. He has been the best position player on the roster for the Dodgers this season, and Seager trails only Bryant in both fWAR (5.1) and bWAR (4.7). He’s an absolute stud.
. SS. Los Angeles Dodgers.
